If youve been in Network Marketing longer than a day, youve probably experienced the disappointment of someone making a promise to you and not keeping it. Whether its buying your product or signing up into your business, people love to tell you one thing and do another. For whatever reason, the majority of people will not do what they say they are going to do when they hang up the telephone with you.

After a while, the dishonesty of others will begin to take a toll and you may find yourself wanting to lie from time to time. A little white lie here and there doesnt seem so bad, but the more you do it, the more difficult it will be to grow your business. Think of how successful you could be if you treated everyone the same way you would like to be treated yourself.

Here are 6 ways honesty can build a home-based business in Network Marketing:

Reason #1: Honesty Builds Confidence
When you are honest with people, you can lay your head down at night knowing you did the right thing. You dont have to worry about your integrity or keeping your story straight with the various people you lie to. You will begin to feel good about yourself and it will come across in every word you say. You can begin to have the confidence to step away from anything and determine whether its right for you, whether its the way you are being trained in Network Marketing, or the type of products you endorse.

Reason #2: Honesty Builds Character
The more honest you are, the more people will believe in you. One of the most important aspects of growing a successful home-based business is being a leader. How can you lead people if you are dishonest? Imagine how many people you can help if they believe in you because you stand behind every word you say. The more people you help, the bigger your business becomes.

Reason #3: Honesty Builds Loyalty
People want to be around others who they trust and believe in. Telling the truth and being upfront about your beliefs doesnt lead people to believe you care when you really dont. This world can be a rough place, that is why a lot of people want to work from home in the first place. They need someone to count on. When they can count on you, they will stick around.

Reason #4: Honesty Builds Relationships
Network Marketing is all about making good solid relationships with people. You cannot succeed without the help of others in this industry, and the better your relationships are, the better your chances for success. Everyone has ups and downs in their lives. Even those with a big income can face times of adversity. Wouldnt it be nice to know that your honesty contributes to such solid friendships that you never have to worry about others helping you out when you need it?

Reason #5: Honesty Builds Enrollment
If your idea of recruiting is focused on painting a pretty picture for a prospect, your business will go nowhere. Being up front and honest shows people you are not just trying to make a sale. This will increase your enrollment rates because no one likes a sales pitch, and most people can see right through them. Every business has hurdles and obstacles. Tell prospects everything they can expect, both good and bad, before they sign up.

Reason #6: Honesty Attracts Honesty
When you begin to focus on being honest with others in business and life, you will begin to find yourself surrounded by others who are honest. You will begin to see things for what they truly are. I didnt feel my company was being totally honest with me about the way I was being trained, so I now find myself in a different training system that actually saved me money while teaching me how to market properly. It all came from being honest.

Sometimes its the little things that make the biggest difference in life as well as business. The next time you arent completely honest about something, think of how it will impact your business in regards to the five tips listed above. The more honest you are with others, the more honest they will be with you. We all need each other to survive in Network Marketing. Let your success be a little more dependent on how you treat others, and less about how big you want your bank account to be.
