Acne Treatment Cleansers

By: Tatw

Practically everyone battles with acne at some point in their lives. Usually during their teenage years, but there are many that have acne issues well into their thirties and even later. As a result of that, items claiming to cure or even prevent acne are literally loading the market.
To start with, there are acne treatments soaps. As with any other cleanser, these are to be used to cleanse the face, generally two times each day. Many of the labels will state that they work by deep cleaning the pores by dissolving debris and excess oil. In addition to cleansers, there are many acne treatment astringents on the market. These work almost like the soaps do by cleansing the pores and removing oil. However, astringents are used by wetting a cotton pad with the astringent and then using the pad to cleanse the affected places.
A normal result of both soaps and astringents is dry skin, or even red, peeling skin. Fortunately, there are many moisturizing creams and lotions available for purchase that are supposed to sooth the skin and keep it nice and soft.
Acne skin care treatments generally come in packages with more than one product. For example, an acne skin care treatment could contain deep cleaning soap, astringent, and moisturizer all in one.
For more serious acne, a dermatologist can also prescribe treatments. Some of these might have special more powerful kinds of cleansers or astringents, but in a lot of cases, a dermatologist`s prescription will include medication in pill form to combat the acne from within the body. These acne treatments are quite powerful and are generally only recommended for people who have sampled over-the-counter items to treat their acne without success.
In addition to acne treatment medications, there are also acne laser treatments which work by using a laser to shine light through the skin and trigger the body`s normal bacteria combating processes. The result is fewer and less severe breakouts.
The acne laser treatment is not very hurtful. People who have had the treatment describe the feeling as like being snapped with a rubber band. And it does not interfere with natural daily activities. Though the skin may look slightly swollen and red, these side-effects generally disappear after a couple hours to a couple days after the laser treatment.
On the downside, acne laser treatments are not cheap. A single treatment of only the cheeks cost approximately $275. And because it generally takes four treatments to really improve the acne, that makes it cost about $1100 only for the cheeks by themselves.
For people who have endured acne in the past and now have deep, atrophic scars, there is something called a laser acne scar treatment that can reduce those scars and make the skin look soft and healthy. The scar removal works by using a laser in order to stimulate the body to make new skin in that place, thereby filling in the scar. This, too, is very costly, costing about the same as the acne laser treatments.
However, because there are so many different acne treatments available on the market today, everyone has a much better chance of finding the appropriate solution for their acne.
