HOW TO CUT YOUR TODDLERS HAIR

Tips For Cutting Your Toddlers Hair Cutting your toddler's hair can be as frustrating and as difficult as trying to bathe a cat. In some cases, the toddler will struggle more than the cat! Even if your toddler doesn't struggle with you cutting her hair, you might not be sure how exactly to go about it. Fortunately, there are some things that you can be aware of that will make the experience of cutting your toddler's hair an easier and more tolerable one.

If your toddler struggles with you when it is time to cut his hair, you can use one of the parent's secret weapons: distraction. Get him involved in his favorite television show, or have him work on a sticker book, or perhaps draw a picture using a lap desk. Once his attention is diverted, you may be able to cut his hair almost without being noticed.

In terms of technique, there are some things to keep in mind. You should probably start by cutting the bangs to the length that you want them. From there, work your way around the head. cut the neck hair, and the hair on the back of the head, into the length and the shape that you want it. At this point, especially if you have an active toddler, it might be time for a break. Let him take a few minutes to run off some steam and get rid of the wiggles. When he is done, get back to it. Use a comb to bring up some hair. Grab the hair with your middle and index fingers, and pull until it is at the desired length, and cut just above your finger. Continue this process all around the entire head, making sure to always cut at the same length.

If all else fails, you can probably get away with just trimming a little bit of hair here and there every now and again. This will help keep it under control and make it a lot more manageable. In a worst case scenario where you cut too much, just remember that it will all grow back long before she is a teenager!
