Home Business In 2008 And The Experiential Learning Guy

By: Shane Press

Research shows that up to 50% of the population's primary learning modality is Kinesthetic or learning by doing things rather than reading about something in a book or hearing about something in a lecture or even attending a training session. A great example is the dreaded question (after it all went wrong): did you read the instructions? The answer...No I just went ahead and did it...(at least she actually did something).

Business and learning go hand in hand; with an ever changing marketplace, coupled with fast developing technology, learning is a daily challenge. Learning by doing in business can be expensive and even threaten the very existence of your business.

Experiential Learning and Your Small Business

Home based business skills education needs to be practically based, building your business while you learn. Theoretical approaches are less effective by dint of the lack of action related steps. The biggest hurdle to results in new home based business is inertia or the almost impossible to overcome 'how do I actually do it' rather than 'just do it' syndrome of theory based programs.

When it is all said and done a guide helping home business owners learn while they earn is massively more productive than most theoretical training programs out there. If a new home based business owner can get 'into the black' as soon as possible they have the maximum chance of success.

Your Experiential Learning Guide

Amongst the learning experiences and failures there have been many success stories for me both in my business and family life. These success stories have unfolded utilizing little or no resources, prior learning or formal training. I have a way to tap these extraordinary successes; by guiding the experiential learning process. (Monkey see monkey do - right now)!

Measurable, positive and bankable results come from planned action steps refined to suit the individual's style on a daily basis. Daily action (and results) builds confidence as well as the bank balance. Building credibility and viability on the internet is another vital daily action i.e. proof of action and ability = the most qualified person to help others build their own business.

No Cost Marketing

The trump card of my experiential learning program is the no cost and low cost ways new business people use to promote the new home based business (or how to get qualified people to your website for minimal cash outlay).

Consider for a moment the attention a best selling author attracts in the media. Given technology and multi media's ubiquity; the written word still remains a super-powerful tool to deliver a message, build credibility and to generate interest in the authors business (read web site).

What is vital to understand is that articles that are posed on the Internet have our resource box at the bottom, containing links to our websites. This means we have 'stick able' content out on the web delivering qualified prospects to our websites from people interested in getting more information related to the article.

Early wins are what experiential learning for home based business is all about. The need for speed is a famous line used by one T Cruise...The need for speed is paramount given the success ratio for home based business reduces with time. Results using experiential learning can be had in as little as 14 days.

Things to look out for in your investigations of a new home business are: If the company / sponsor has more opportunity meetings than trainings then they are obviously interested in recruitment over training. This is no use to you if you truly want to build a solid business. Training only over audio is another difficult thing for the kinesthetic learner...you will be behind the eight ball all the way. Another common training glitch is to deliver what to do but not how to do it...very common in today's business opportunity marketplace. Experiential learning in your new business is the fast lane ticket.
