There is some protection from this type of software if you are running Windows XP or Vista that is built in called Windows defender but it provides only a limited amount. You might have also got some software with your PC or purchased some Anti Spyware with spyware blocker but how effective is this software now.

Let's review and go over what is spyware software to start and how Anti spyware and Spyware blockers protect and are needed to keep your computer and personal information safe. Spyware or Adware or sometimes called "Malware" are software programs that have been designed by program publishers and marketers that is designed to snoop on you're browser activities while online to see what you are searching for or purchasing and then afterward "Pop-up" ads are sent back to your PC. Once this software is installed it runs and ties up computer resources along with processes on you PC which will cause related system issues with the Internet browser to slowing down problems issues with your PC and even cause the computer to crash. Over time more of this software gets loaded and your PC gets slower and slower and more issue occur the spyware tries to connect out to the host site or it can also Hijacks your browser taking you to a site you would not normally visit and because of all this network connection activity your PC cause heavy traffic across the network.

The number one threat to you computer has rapidly become Spyware and Adware viruses with over 87% of PCs already infected. Included in this list are Trojans, Popup Ads, Worms and Web bugs, Web worms, Monitoring software and more. Some of these software programs are designed to monitor and record your online acts including your credit card numbers and bank account numbers along with other personal information which can lead to a worse possibly identity theft. As you use the internet like many people do these days then there is a good chance your computer is infected with these types of files or will be since this happens by simply surfing the web or downloading files or music and even by reading your email all without you noticing. As and IT professional I have seen many cases of this the worst had to be one client with over 400 programs running actively in the back ground. These types or programs like to hide and run in the back ground where you normally would not see them unless they actually cause a Popup ad.

There are newer forms of this software which are worse many due to current Anti Spyware and blockers combating the these types of Spyware these newer versions are more capable at evading detection. These spyware threats are better than versions from just a few months ago. Because of this your current Anti Spyware and Spyware blocker programs may no longer be as effective at combating spyware or blocking spyware as it was in the past.

Newer forms of spyware software are always being generated fortunately there area also new Anti spyware and adware removal tools that are available to fight against and help block newer spyware. Many choices are currently available sorting through them all to find the best one is a challenging task and important decision to make. One solution is to keep up with current version of Anti Spyware which also includes blocking spyware this software will provide blocking as well as remove any of these types of programs that might get installed. One thing to watch is compatibility since some versions might not run properly on a system that has Vista or other operating system. Even with install of this software there is still a good chance that spyware will get installed on your computer. It happens by accepting or clicking some websites or even email which contain these types of software programs that just waiting for you to install them on your computer once you have accepted there software or clicked on there downloads.
