Marketing

By: Robert II Smith

As for me, the main thing in the ad is: to show, to attract, to make me wanna buy. My main wish when I’m watching the ad is not to think or some technical asrect of how is it made, but the main idea is to relax to see a good picture, to enjoy.

Lately I’ve noticed that advertisement is not about informing but showing, and making feel good, even happy. Not much info, easy picture, easy structure, understandable to each and every or at least to the audience u r orienting on.

I think, that the main criteria must be easiness, colorfulness (but not to many colors), fun, beauty, love, happiness. Character that we can see on the screen or in my particular case- in the magazine, must express all the info that I need to get. The ad must formulate my emotional condition before telling me what actually it is about. Firstly, I need to feel those emotion that the character felt to understand him/her, what is she feeling and then to put me on her/his place and to understand what is it about by my own feelings. In addition, everything must be logically connected in the advertisement. Everyone must understand it or if will be in some other way, it will be no good. I personally would consider it as discrimination. I think that every person has a right to understand what is in the advertisement, or at least what is it about. I guess, a good ad is that after which I would think about the product or of the main characters that I saw on screen.

Sometimes it happens so that well technically built, logically connected with good colors ad looks terrible. “What is it all about?” – was my first question. Why that dead, wet, little creature is in her hands. What’s going on???

A very small, fatty, I would say, someway, simpatico “thing” is hanging on it’s tongue in her fingers? I feel thick. Did she kill it? No one could get what was the ad about… and the most curious question is: what is “Sunsilk” doing on the picture? Moreover, where did the dead guy came from? Was it swimming in the bath? Did the creature got out of the bottle? Or was the girl washing the poor baby with “Sunsilk”? Maybe “Sunsulk” killed the “thing”? Even if someone gets that, it is about hair, tell me please, how long does it takes not to clean your hair to get those creatures in your head? Because I would grow and sell them!!!!

However, for me the funniest r the words “Forget about the problems with your hair.” Oh dear… POOR GIRL the creature appeared because she had problems with her hair. Maybe she should try to wash her hair more often? Who knows…

From dead creatures in hands lets move to the shoes on brides legs.

When looking on the picture I see young bride full of feelings. Her dress, her look, her hair, every muscle is in movement. I feel that she is running. The first idea in my head: she’s late on her wedding- she was getting ready for too long and her car broke. Well, things happen. Especially with us- girls. I think I’m gonna be in the same situation.

Anyway, the next look is on the top. Wait a sec, is it really so? I’m comparing the two pictures… It can’t be!! White wedding dress and red “Ecco” shoes. Wow? She a fan of “Ecco”. But in her situation its rather comfortable. It’s just what she needs. I hope she would get to the place on time.

I like this ad it’s full of feelings and emotions. There is a main phrase in it “Shoes created for movement” and the whole ad reflects it. The whole ad breathes with emotions, with running, with feelings that are on it. Me personally I wish she would got to him on time, and I hope Ecco shoes would help her in it.
