More Business For Your Bed & Breakfast With A Quality Website

By: Patti Rob

Your website is going to be a vital piece of advertising for your bed & breakfast. When people plan to travel to your area, they will likely use a search engine. If you have a quality website you will find your information has a good ranking. Most people won't search past the first page so strive for a very good placement.

Once someone clicks on a link to a website, they will decide rather quickly if they want to navigate it further. The colors you use as well as the headlines you have are going to help them make up their mind. A careful layout on your website will help ensure people stick around to take a good look around. You can choose to set up the website on your own or have someone else take care of it.

Since you will have so many other issues of the business to focus on, you may decide it is better to hire someone for this job. Make sure you communicate well with them so they can provide you with the best possible website. Remember that what they come up with is going to be a direction reflection of your bed & breakfast business.

Most people really want to get an idea of what the bed & breakfast looks like. You can help them with this by having plenty of pictures on your website. You should have pictures of the outside as well as many areas of the inside. The pictures should be large enough that they get a good concept of the layout. You can also set up a virtual tour that will take them through each room.

Don't forget to offer pictures of the meals you serve as well. If you can get some of your guests to agree to be photographed, you can show them having a good time while they eat at your bed & breakfast. This helps others to get the impression that they too can have a similar experience.

In addition to all the information about your bed & breakfast, tell them what else they may have questions about. Transportation is a big concern so let them know the options for getting to and from your business. Let them know what attractions are out there and how far away. If there will be special events coming up make sure you add them to your website as well. Don't forget to talk about how your business got started as many people will be interested in this.

It is a good idea to post information about the cost of your bed & breakfast. Some people won't bother to call you to get that information. If the rates often vary, you should say for them to call you to find out about your specials and promotions. This way they will like there is something in it for them when they contact you.

If you are a member of the Better Business Bureau, you have testimonials from other happy guests, or you have had your bed & breakfast featured in magazines or other online sites, make sure you post those links. The more information a guest has about what your business entails the more likely they will be to stay there.
