The iPhone Battery: How Good Is It?

By: David Smith..

The iPhone is Apple's new smartphone product, taking the Apple brand and it's Ipod success to a new market. It's pretty much a no brainer that the iPhone is going to be as successful as it's Ipod forbearers.

The iPhone is a stunning new smartphone built around it's very capable multimedia capabilities, internet connectivity, as well as a 2.75G quad-band GSM network connection system. It offers a 2.0 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities for connecting to the internet, and of course it's very impressive touch screen user interface system, with a virtual keypad as its main "mobile phone" input system. The phone's touch system is known for its cutting edge technology, being truly groundbreaking there is nothing quite like it. Its storage features are quite impressive, boasting a 4 gigabyte and 8 gigabyte model for potential users to choose from. It comes with an internal iPhone battery, which powers the iPhone impressively, the raw power fueling the iPhone and its boasted features.

The official battery time of the iPhone offers up to 250 hours of standby time power, and can crank out 24 hours of MP3 play, 7 hours of video playback. It has a talk time of up to 8 hours, and can use the internet up to 6 hours it's most power intensive action.

The iPhone battery shows the experience that Apple has gained through it's iPod products. It completely blows away the competition. Consider the top competitors to the iPhone. For instance the Nokia N95 only has a talk time of about 4 hours. The Samsung Blackjack only has a talktime of about 5.5 hours, the Palm Treo, and the Blackberry Curve 8300 only come in at about 4 hours of talk time which is doubled by the iPhone battery.

Apple obviously produced a very impressive product with these long talk times.

Not all is roses with the Apple iPhone however. The iPhone battery is internal and cannot be removed, while it's competitors have easily replaceable batteries.

Because the battery is non-removable that eliminates the ability to use backup emergency batteries. Many smartphone users depend on backup batteries that can quickly be replaced in the event that the phone dies. With the iPhone you are required to recharge the phone to use it. If you travel extensively you should definitely have an extra phone charger.

The other issue with the iPhone battery is that because of the nature of all batteries, they need replacing every few years. If that happens with an iPhone, you have to bring it to your local iStore, or iPhone shop to have it replaced by a technician.

The iPhone is a very capable phone that won't be hampered by insufficient battery life. We think you'll be well pleased with it.
