The Benefits Of Organization

By: Kenrick Cleveland

"Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." -Albert Einstein

I did something very interesting and almost enjoyable over the weekend. It's enjoyable for me today, but in retrospect, it was kind of a difficult process. I did a major fall cleaning of my whole office and got everything reorganized and put together nicely. It actually reminded me for some strange reason of my childhood and it reminded me of a lot of things that I haven't done which I would like to do. I would say it was kind of a difficult process in terms of action and motivation, but sitting in a much more organized office today is definitely worth the effort.

If for any reason you haven't done an office (or basement, or attic, or automobile) reorganization in a very long time open yourself up to it and allow that process to be a process for your life. What is it that you want to do with your life and how do you want to get there? In taking it another step, it's time to reexamine your universes. You might find a whole lot of internal clutter that could do with a little reorganization.

It seems like life is running at accelerated speeds-we work, we have families, we accumulate (for me-my weakness is books) and it's easy to get overwhelmed. This is what partly led to my office being not quite as deeply organized as I would like it to be.

When we have so many things to focus on, it's almost impossible to stay organized (especially not having an 'on site' assistant). We spread ourselves too thin with only passing attention and focus on any number of things. Our ability to focus is hindered detracting attention from some of the necessary, important things in life.

Something I'm going to be introducing soon involves the universe system. My goal is to create a quarterly review which will help to streamline our universes into a daily review of the top things we're working on making it easier focus on the things we're looking to manifest.

Amazing things happen as a result of getting really clear and making sure there's a real organization to our work spaces, our lives, our thought processes. If you haven't thought through some of those things it might be a good place to start.
