The Ghost in the Shed - part 1

By: Arron Kasady

This promised to be a very interesting investigation, and we had never done this sort of hunt before. A family in the north of England had got in touch with us, as they claimed that their garden shed was haunted. Something like this doesn't come along too often, so the ghost team were more than willing to go and investigate. We all jumped in the car and headed off to what we joking described as the shed of terror.

The family told us that objects often go missing from the shed and turn up again a few days later, in a totally different place from where it belonged. They also told us that they have been awakened suddenly in the night, hearing banging coming from the shed, and to find the lights going on and off.

The last straw came when their 6-year-old daughter claimed that she had seen an old man looking out of the shed window at her while she was playing. The family couldn't take anymore of this and decided to call us.

As the location was so small, it was decided that only Annabel and myself would go along, much to the dismay at the other members. When we got there, we asked the family if any other ghostly happenings had occurred in any parts of the house. Apparently not, so the paranormal activity seemed to be centred around the shed.

This was something I had never come across before in the previous three years of the team's existence, so I was genuinely excited by what we might find during this 'low key' investigation.

I only brought the bear minimum of equipment with me. I decided that there would be no point in bringing along the temperature reader as this was going to be a cold night of November, and due to there being electrical wiring in the shed, the EMF reader would be rendered useless.

I set up a small video camera just outside the shed, and had another handheld on me. Annabel had the still camera and was taking the stills photographs. Aside from a couple of small orbs, nothing was caught on the stills, to my disappointment.

Annabel began her reading, and as soon as she began, I thought I heard what sounded like a small 'thump' coming from the corner of the shed. I placed the Dictaphone in that corner to try and pick up any more sounds.
