The survey of telecommunication companies

By: Mathew Petrenko

Are you sure that there are 60 seconds in one minute? I was surprised to learn that for some prepaid phone card developers a minute - just 36 seconds. A lot of reputed corporations declared that there can't be any upright competition if one of competitors has unjust advantages before the start of a rivalry. IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) company decided to sue the different corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards for the unjust rivalry conditions on a phone services market.

IDT/UTA had asserted that dissimilar its proper calling cards, those of many of its competitors deliver just approximately 60 percent of the minutes of telecommunications services announced and promoted on voice prompts heard by clients in connection with calls made by using the defendants' cards and advertised by these rivals on radio, magazines, placard, global network, or another medium. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have reached a full settlement of the suit brought by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. This brings to four the amount of defendant groups which have resolved the litigation commenced by IDT/UTA earlier this year. The other settling accused companies today are Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and related corporations, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc. IDT/UTA's lawsuit versus the remaining defendants is still persisting in federal tribunal in Newark, New Jersey. Lately I saw a post on one of telephone card related websites where a softswitch producer showed his project. The new system permits any client to define the duration of the minute that suits him better, and the system would keep back minutes form the balance and the customer will have an ability to check exactly how many minutes were deducted and how many remain. Further, they declared that those rules are not their discovery, but are the standards for all call card corporations. That is true, because revising all the recent advertising notices we can see the same information.

That purports that the international phone card, which is for $10.00, brings you 1000 minutes for conversations! Please, select the phone card thoroughly to avoid the ability of being cheated. Clients would be given the minutes, they forfeited during the illegal practices, as a encouragement. IDT/UTA thinks that until all defendants have agreed to follow to that standard, it is beneficial for the continued prosecution of this action to have a smooth process with fewer defendants. To establish the level of paying field all the companies, that provide the telephone facilities have to promote the best practices and rules. The mechanisms, that can precisely examine all the actions related to the pay beforehand cards, will be developed by that companies. The contracting parties agreed to promote the effective tracing system free for everybody that would like to control the actions.
