Things To Consider With Seasonal Vending Machine Locations

By: Robert Farnham

There is plenty of conflicting information out there about seasonal vending machine locations. Are they going to make you enough money to pay for the location all year long? In some instances, this could be a very profitable location for you with the amount of money you make during that season to be more than what many other vending machine locations make all year long.

When we are talking seasonal vending machine locations, we are referring to those that won't have a stead stream of traffic all year long. Instead they will have a very good flow of traffic for specific periods of time. The longer that period of time is, the more likely the seasonal vending machine is going to offer you some excellent profit margins. Some people make more with a vending machine at a swimming pool during the summer months than they do with another location all year long.

What do you do for the remaining five months of the year though? Do you really want to have your vending machine in such a location where you aren't going to get very much business at all during that period of time? You may find you make three or four times what you do with other vending machine locations during the busy season. That would make the seasonal location one that is very profitable.

On the other hand, your seasonal vending machine is only doing one and a half times the business as your other vending machine locations, then that you make in the course of a year isn't going to be sufficient to deem that seasonal location as one that is profitable. It all comes down to what your bottom line is after all of your expenses.

Moving vending machines is tricky business as there is always the risk of damage. You may consider having the vending machine in the seasonal location and then moving it to another location for the rest of the year. Make sure you have a solid contract in place with the owner of the seasonal vending machine location so that you are guaranteed to be able to move it back later.

In most cases, for them to hold this vending machine location for you, they will continue to charge you a monthly fee. Make sure you calculate that expense into the evaluation for the seasonal vending machine location. You may find it is still extremely profitable or you may find it isn't going to make you any profits in the long run.

Too many people see nothing but initial dollar signs with a seasonal vending machine location. As a result, they end up losing money instead of making it. Use realistic information and figures to really decide if a seasonal vending machine location is going to be able to work well for you or not.

There are many things to consider with seasonal vending machine locations so make sure you take them all into account. You definitely are going to have to be able to take a realistic look at the numbers. You are also going to have to be able to budget your money so that you have plenty left over from the most profitable times to get you through the slower times of the year.
