Too Many MLM Companies, TOO Few MLM Distributors

By: joe cotroneo

There are many people in the USA who work MLM Programs. There are literally miilions of people who utilize this method of business operation to make a fulltime income or in order to attain one. The MLM Business has certainly matured since the days of Amway or Shaklee.

With the advent of better technologies, namely the Computer and the Internet, there has been a proliferation of MLM Company startups. At first, this created extra opportunities for the average MLM distributor. Lately, however this phenomonon has hurt the MLM distributor.

On the surface it may seem that there are extra opportunities for the MLmer to prosper. However, under closer analysis what is revealed is a shrinking market for the average Mlm distributor. There are only a certain amount of MLMers available to be recruited into any opportunity. This number remains static or increases by a small percentage yearly.

The number of MLM companies has increased at such a startling pace that it is a wonder that any of them can survive and recriut a distribution force that will allow the company to survive. Marketing and Sales tactics must change to accomodate the new market environment. Most new distributors will be unable to meet this challenge.

The way to overcome the new level of competition is to simply expand the number distributors available to join any MLM opportunity. The new distributors must come from outside the available pool of MLM distributors. This will require more training to bring the "outsider" up to speed on MLM marketing methods. This is time consuming, but a very important thing will happen, the building of relationships that was once the core of the industry.

MLM used to be all about "relationship building". It was the cornerstone of the Industry in the beginning and we may have to return to our "roots" somewhat in order to succeeed. Today most people hide behind a lead capture page and a autoresponder, never speaking to their prospects. If you understand the importance of building relationships, you understand MLM.

Survival of the new MLM distributor will depend upon the system used to recruit for him or her. If the newbie has access to leads, autoresponders etc and can profit from them by adding additional income streams, they can more easily overcome those difficult first couple of months in business. Any tactic that can help your new distributor prosper, will increase your chance of success.

The MLM Business is one of the last bastions of entrepreneurship available today. Use the underlying principles of building relationships and duplication and you will succeed.
