A report recently published from the state of Washington found that commercial truck accidents have been increasing although the number of log truck collisions has declined.

Within the study, "rising costs, aging drivers and long hours of service... other factors that could affect safety and economic viability include the ongoing effects of deregulation, poor driver recruitment" are all reasons for the potential increase in log truck accidents.
