We’ve also looked at how to reinforce good discipline habits. Now let’s look at developing them. Develop the Discipline to Get Things Done – Step 3 In the previous steps, we have primarily concerned ourselves with that which we are attempting to discipline ourselves and our organizations to do. From this step onward, we will concern ourselves with how to achieve that discipline. Develop the Discipline to Get Things Done – Step 1 In life, all the rewards go to those who actually get things done. They go to those who have the discipline to do what they have set out to do. Here is step one toward getting things done. Execution versus Discipline The problem is not that people don’t know how to execute, it’s that they don’t. And all the books and seminars on “Execution” are not going to help in the least. Without discipline, execution will never happen. Always Celebrate Your Victories, Even the Small Ones If you recognize your success, it builds your confidence and it reaffirms your worth. I truly believe that these wild celebrations will help you remember and build on the successes you have.
